PRESIDENT DUBYA'S MEETING GETS INTERRUPTED (5:58)

- I guess Ferrell has a new Dubya wig now.
- Dean looked a lot like Colin Powell, but how come he had no lines? I don't think Seth said anything, either.
- Man, it was great to see Darrell's Al Gore impression back. It hasn't been seen in a whole year. Darrell still has the impression down.
- Why was there a long, strange pause after Ferrell/Bush said "I knew you grew a beard, Al"? Did the camera cut in too late to Darrell as Dick Cheney?
- I noticed that Ferrell played Dubya more serious this time than dumb, and he didn't squint his eyes that much. It looked kinda odd having him play a straight man to Gore.
- Great how they had Darrell do multiple impressions in this cold opening.
- And the Ferrell and Hammond LFNY cycle continues and continues and continues and continues...
- RATING: ****1/2 A-

HUGH JACKMAN'S MONOLOGUE (4:11)

- Hey, Pardo pronounced his name right this time. Way to go.
- Tracy was funny, though it was his only sketch of the night (big surprise). They sure have been making a lot of jokes lately about him being on drugs.
- Hugh's song with Ana, Maya, Rachel, and Amy was kinda dull to me, since I'm not really a fan of singing in sketches or monologues - unless it's comical, or unless it's Christopher Walken doing it. Also, why wasn't Tina there? She was the only female cast member missing. This would've been an easy way to get her in a sketch.
- RATING: **** B-

LOOSE BEAR (1:05)

- Great commercial. Simple and short.
- Loved the disclaimer at the end about the side effects.
- RATING: ****1/2 A-

JARRET'S ROOM (6:36)

- I used to hate this recurring sketch, but I'm liking it more and more now.
- I'm also liking Horatio's character more and more, too. His entrance with the bong was classic.
- Hugh Jackman was pretty good as the geeky neighbor.
- The spy cam footage with Jeff Richards was hilarious. As much as I miss Parnell's character, I think Jeff Richards' new character (appropriately named 'Jeff') will fit right in.
- At first, I was wondering if they could top the Jarret's Room sketch from the Seann William Scott episode, and they definitely did. Great sketch.
- RATING: ****3/4 A

THE ROBERT GOULET ALL HOLIDAY SPECIAL (5:00)

- YES!!!! Great to see the Robert Goulet impression back.
- I've been awaiting this sketch for a long time, since Bob Barron saw the dress rehearsal of the Billy Bob Thornton episode and said that this sketch was supposed to be done there but it was cut in the live version, then according to Sean Bradley's sketch spoilers, it was supposed to be done last week but it got cut again. The wait was definitely worth it.
- Hey, the big-horned sheep is back!
- RATING: ****3/4 A

NEXT WEEK ELLEN DeGENERES/NO DOUBT
I'm a little worried since this will be the 6th live show in 7 weeks. The writers have proved many times in the past when they need a break after having too many live shows in a row. The last time there were 6 live shows in 7 weeks was the Tom Green episode - we all know how that one turned out. But with a great comedian like Ellen DeGeneres hosting, Christmas around the corner, and if the writers don't suffer from "the curse", this should be a really great episode.

FOREIGN PHOTOGRAPHERS (4:48)

- This was great. Seth and Hugh put on hilarious performances.
- Kattan's voice started fading sometime in this sketch.
- The ending was great.
- RATING: ****3/8 B+

WEEKEND UPDATE (5:52)

- Great Update as usual, though it felt a little short.
- I knew Kattan's "Terrible Re-Enactments" had to come back sooner or later, and it was funny and silly as always. Kattan does a lot of random Update bits lately (Gay Hitler, New Years Baby, Terrible Re-Enactments).
- Speaking of which, I remember Kattan played Geraldo Rivera before, in that Well Babies Tragedy sketch from the Nathan Lane episode, which aired coincidentally 4 exact years ago from today (on December 6, 1997).
- Is it just me, or where there a few snowflakes falling from above (apparently left over from the Goulet sketch)? I think Tina noticed it, too.
- Nice to see the underused Jeff Richards having a bigger role in the show tonight. His Drunk Girl bit was pretty good.
- That Filipino/Machete joke is actually similar to one that was in this week's Weekend Update edition at SNYou.com.
- Jimmy's back to doing the "pencil throwing" thing he used to always do at the end of Update.
- RATING: ****3/8 B+

HELLO DOLLY (4:28)

- Damn! Why'd they have to bring this back? This sketch has never been funny.
- RATING: ***1/4 D

MICK & MICK (3:03)

- YAAY, I'm happy to see Jimmy doing another impression. That's two shows in a row. He's getting back to normal.
- My only complaint is that they should've made Jimmy's face look more wrinklier. Mick Jagger practically has luggage bags all over his face.
- RATING: ****1/4 B

SUPERMAN CONTACTS HIS PARENTS (3:37)

- An okay sketch. Not much to talk about.
- The second time tonight where Rachel's played a Grandmother.
- RATING: **** B-

VERSACE (5:35)

- I was hoping we'd see this again. The Versace sketch from the season premiere was classic, and this was great, too. Maya at her best.
- RATING: ****1/2 A-

CHRISTMAS KANGAROO (3:01)

- This was hilarious. Will was great as usual, and Hugh was good, too as the narrator.
- A great last sketch, and a good break from the usual Jack Handey endings.
- RATING: ****1/2 A-

OVERALL - After two mediocre episodes (Jeter and BB Thornton), the show is back on top again, with an excellent episode. Almost all of the skits were great save for Hello Dolly. Hugh Jackman was a solid host and did better than most of the other recent foreign hosts (Alan Cumming, Pierce Brosnan). Great woik.  A-

BEST SKETCH OF THE EPISODE: Jarret's Room; Versace; Robert Goulet
WORST SKETCH OF THE EPISODE: Hello Dolly
MOST BIZARRE SKETCH: Versace
BLOOPERS: Jimmy flubbed a line in the Jarret's Room sketch about "last week's game", and he had his usual character breaks during that sketch and the Mick & Mick sketch
SKETCHES THAT'LL PROBABLY BE CUT ON COMEDY CENTRAL: Hello Dolly (hopefully); Christmas Kangaroo; Mick & Mick; Superman

CAST MEMBER COUNT DOWN:

RACHEL DRATCH: 4 sketches (Monologue, Photographers, Superman, Kangaroo)
JIMMY FALLON: 4 sketches (Jarret's Room, Update, Mick & Mick, Versace)
WILL FERRELL: 4 sketches (Dubya Meeting, Robert Goulet, Superman, Kangaroo)
TINA FEY: 1 sketch
ANA GASTEYER: 4 sketches (Monologue, LooseBear, Photographers, Hello Dolly)
DARRELL HAMMOND: 2 sketches (Dubya Meeting, Robert Goulet)
CHRIS KATTAN: 3 sketches (Robert Goulet, Photographers, Update)
TRACY MORGAN: 1 sketch (Monologue)
MAYA RUDOLPH: 4 sketches (Dubya Meeting, Monologue, Superman, Versace)
HORATIO SANZ: 2 sketches (Jarret's Room, Photographers)
DEAN EDWARDS: 1 sketches (Dubya Meeting)
SETH MEYERS: 4 sketches (Dubya Meeting, Jarret's Room, Photographers, Kangaroo)
AMY POEHLER: 2 sketches (Monologue, LooseBear)
JEFF RICHARDS: 3 sketches (LooseBear, Jarret's Room, Update)

Nobody was used in more than 4 sketches, which means that the whole cast got a pretty good even amount of airtime.

By the way, a cartoon by Robert Smigel was credited in the opening, but it wasn't shown, just like in last season's Pierce Brosnan, Dana Carvey, and Rob Lowe episodes.

And that's all. As Hugh Jackman would put it: Thanks for readin' me review. I'm outta heah, mates...
